The Obituary
Mr. Xavier Antonio Alvarez, was born on December 21, 1989, right outside of Pittsburgh, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania to the parentage of Jose' and Sybil (Satterwhite) Alvarez.
At an early age, Xavier joined the Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church in Roanoke under the spiritual guidance of the Pastor, Reverend L.B. Houston, where he remained a faithful member until his home going.
As a youngster growing up in Roanoke, he was recognized early in life for his precociousness. Throughout his youth, he was active in church, school and community. His intellectual brilliance shined like a bright star and inspired us.
Xavier attended Roanoke City Schools at the Elementary and Junior High School level, and later attended and graduated from the Alabama School of Math and Science in Mobile, Alabama.
He enrolled in the University Of Alabama and later transferred to Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, Alabama, where he earned the Associate Degree. Xavier was currently enrolled at the University of West Georgia at Carrollton, where he was majoring in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.
He was concurrently employed with JAC Motors, as a Quality Control/CNC Operator in the automobile manufacturing industry.
Xavier was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jose' Alvarez, Sr. At the youthful age of 24, despite his determination to pursue a dream of becoming an industrial engineer, or perhaps a great mathematician, the hand of God extinguished a bright star, when Xavier's life journey suddenly ended on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is survived by his parents, Sybil Alvarez of Roanoke, Alabama, and Jose' Alvarez of Houston, Texas; his maternal grandfather, Andrew Ellis, and maternal grandmother Cora Lee Ware both of Roanoke, Alabama; paternal grandmother, Maria Alvarez of Houston, Texas; four (4) uncles: Carlos Alvarez of Houston, Texas, Lorenzo Gunn of Anniston, Alabama, William Ware (Carolyn) of Wadley, Alabama, Jimmy Roger Ware (Brenda) of Roanoke, Alabama; seven (7) aunts: Sandra Henderson (Randy), Rebecca Gunn, Brenda Ware, and Mary Brown (Alvin) all of Roanoke, Alabama; Janett Alvarez-Colbert (Tyrone) of Houston, Texas, Margie Beck (Calvin) of Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania, Louise Minnifield (Mark) of Wedowee, Alabama; his fiance' Sierra Nicely of Atlanta, Georgia; and finally, a host of loving cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
