With hearts broken, the Green family of Wedowee, Alabama announces the passing from this life of their beloved father, grandfather, and brother, William Andrew Green, 92, a life-long resident of Wedowee, AL. Mr. Green transitioned from this life on Saturday morning, November 12, 2022 at is residence in Wedowee.
William Andrew Green, a native and lifelong resident of Wedowee, Alabama, departed this life on November 12, 2022. William Andrew Green was born on January 28, 1930, to the parentage of Carl and Annie (Houston) Green.
During his formative years, William attended school at Cornhouse Creek; his hard work and dedication paid off for him. William worked in construction and logging for twenty-plus years with companies in the area. William was a prosperous farmer; his love for the land was seen in his farming labors. In addition, William was one with nature; his hobbies included hunting and fishing.
William was a man of faith and family. in his youth, he married the love of his life Fannie Pearl Green in 1952; and they were united together for sixty-three years until her death. William was a member of Zion Rest Baptist Church in Wedowee, Alabama.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie P. Green, and four brothers: James I. Green, Virgil Green, Fred Green, John Robert Green, and one sister, Carrie Bailey.
William leaves behind, 92 years of cherished memories with two devoted sons: Tony Green (Nancy) and Calvin L. White Sr. (Joyce), both of Wedowee, Alabama; three loving sisters: Agnes Minnifield, and Emma I. Ware, both of Wedowee, Alabama, and Naconia Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one sister-in-law: Elizabeth P. Green. Fond memories are also left to be shared with his twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
