Walter Lewis Anderson, Jr.

It is with overwhelming sadness that the Anderson familiy of Atlanta, GA announces the passing from this life of their beloved husband, father, and brother, Walter Lewis Anderson,  Jr., — age 52 — a resident of Fairburn, GA.   Affectionately known to family and friends as "Jody",  Mr. Anderson transitioned from this life on Monday, April 10, 2023, in College Park, GA.     

Walter Lewis (Jody) Anderson Jr., a loving exuberant spirit, departed this life April 10, 2023, to rest in Yahweh's merciful arms. Jody lived a rich life with experiences that shaped memories for all his loved ones. Jody was born to Walter Lewis Anderson Sr. and the late Dorothy Delores Frieson Washington on December 1, 1970, in Tuscaloosa, AL and later moved to Atlanta, GA.

Jody’s life was one of incredible achievements. While in Tuscaloosa, Jody attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1989.  Jody’s drive and education allowed him to secure a career as a Claims Specialist for the Social Security Administration, which he held for over twenty-five years.  Jody was also an Elder at The Assembly of Divine Reality.

 Jody was the life of the party, and brightened every place he went with his joking, outgoing personality.  Jody loved music, traveling, photography and fashion; he ALWAYS dressed his best. He touched thousands of people’s lives with his positive energy and kindness.

Jody was married to Miatta Zoi Anderson on October 28, 2018 in Broward County, FL.  They would eventually travel to Barbados, where on December 1, 2018, they reaffirmed their vows in a formal wedding ceremony.  Jody and Miatta traveled often, making fond memories with each other and their friends. Jody will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Walter Lewis “Jody” Anderson Jr. is preceded in death by his mother, the late Dorothy Frieson Washington.  Jody leaves warm memories with his wife, Miatta Zoi Anderson; five children: Ashley Hobson, Jared Anderson, Julian Anderson, Bradylan Hudson, and Jasmine Anderson; two loving siblings, Burton Anderson and Ashley Washington Griffin; two grandchildren: Jahari Lewis and Azir Hobson; father, Walter Lewis Anderson, Sr. and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other friends and family to mourn his passing.

I will always cherish memories of you in my heart.  I’m sorry you had to leave so soon.  I’m so proud of you, dad, no matter what I will always be your baby girl.  Thank you for being my father; keep resting until we meet again.
