Wallace Rutlin Obituary

With deepest regret, we announce the passing of Mr. Wallace Jerry “Buck-Roach” Rutlin, age 60, a resident of 270 Blakes Ferry Drive, Lineville, Clay County, Alabama 35266. Mr. Rutlin transitioned from this life on Friday evening, April 4, 2014 at Northeast Regional Medical Center, Anniston, Alabama.

Public Viewing and Visitation hours for Mr. Wallace Rutlin will be observed on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, here at the funeral home between the hours of 12:00 Noon and 6:00 PM.

Funeral services will be observed on Thursday afternoon, April 10, 2014, at 1:00 O'Clock PM from the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 744 Woodland Avenue, Northwest, Wedowee, Alabama 36278. Reverend Charles Woods, Pastor, and Reverend Craig McClure, Eulogist. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery at the church.

The Obituary

Mr. Wallace Jerry Rutlin, known to his friends as "Buck-Roach", was born on July 27, 1953, in Randolph County, Alabama, to the parentage of the late Charlie Will Rutlin-Prothro and Anna Lee (Tyler) Rutlin.

At an early age, he joined the Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Wedowee, Alabama, where he remained a faithful member until his home going.

He worked in the construction industry for many years as a brick-mason.

Wallace was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Will Rutlin and a grandson, AnQuavious Denny Wright. At the age of 60, the hand of God reached down, and took him home when Wallace’s life journey ended on Friday evening, April 4, 2014 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.

He is survived by three (3) sons: Wallace Patillo of Roanoke, Alabama and Preston Lane (Cynthia) and Walter Denny (Melissa); three (3) daughters: Tara Houston (Lawrence), Temika Marable, and Christy Denny (Chris) all of Wedowee, Alabama; three (3) sisters: Anne Pierson (Robert) of Lineville, Alabama, Margaret Person (Ted) of Alexander City, Alabama, and Geraldine Boyd (Johnny) of Auburn, Alabama; fourteen (14) grandchildren; a special niece, Diane Patillo; his lifelong friend, Jerry Ackles of Lineville, Alabama; and special friend, Louise of Lineville, Alabama; and last but not least, a host nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
