The Taylor family of the Historic East Roanoke Community mourns the passing of Vincent Edwards Taylor, 57, a beloved husband and father. Vincent transitioned peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.
Born on November 10, 1967, to Margaret Taylor of Roanoke, Alabama, Vincent dedicated his life to family and work. He grew up and attended school here in Roanoke, graduating from Handley High School with the Class of 1986. After high school Vincent continued to embrace his life long passion for sports, coaching, and cooking.
On August 23, 2003, he married LaShaundra Taylor in LaGrange, GA, and their enduring bond of 21 years, gave rise to a loving family.
He pursued a career in the logistics industry, becoming a self-employed commercial driver before retiring due to health challenges.
Vincent was a Christian who embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ and understood the importance of a belief in serving a higher power. That said, he rededicated his life to Christ in July of 2023. He was a dedicated member of Canaan Baptist Church in the Welch Community.
Vincent was preceded in death by his beloved mother, the late Mrs. Margaret (Taylor) Walker, and his brother John Lewis Walker. After walking with God for 57 years, he was summoned to eternal rest on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.
During his abbreviated life, Vincent managed to create many loving memories with his family and friends. His memory lives on through his wife, Mrs. LaShaundra Taylor of McDonough, GA; children, Detria Staples Of Opelika; Alexas Taylor of Roanoke; Quinton, Quincy, Vinson, and Lauren Taylor all of McDonough, GA; a goddaughter, Chelsea Stallworth of Tallahassee; FL, and the cherished moments he shared with his many cousins, friends, and family.
