Thelma Louise Dejarnette was born November 27, 1927 to the parentage of the late Johnny W. Seymour and Ora M. Carlisle in Randolph County, Alabama.
She attended school in Randolph County. She united in Holy Matrimony with the late Mason DeJarnette.
Thelma joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wadley, Alabama, where she served faithfully until her health failed.
She devoted her life to domestic work and homemaking.
Ms. Dejarnette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mason DeJarnette; a sister, Cora Mae Seymour; two sons: Kenneth Dejarnette and Donanay Dejarnette; and a daughter, Mary Katherine Slaughter.
She departed this life on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Linda Garrett in Lineville, Alabama.
Thelma gave many smiles to the world, and now leaves to cherish her memory two (2) daughters: Mrs. Linda Garrett (John) and Mrs. Sandra Jean Rutlin (Jerry) of Lineville, Alabama; Mary K. Slaughter; a sister, Johnnie K. Smith (Charlie) of Roanoke, Alabama; sixteen (15) grandchildren; forty-three (43) great grandchildren; a host of loved ones and extended family members, neighbors and friends.
