With deepest regret, we announce the passing from this life of Mr. Roy Thomas, 78, formerly of 135 Nook Street, Roanoke, Alabama. Mr. Thomas transitioned from this life on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Roanoke Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Roanoke, Alabama.
Roy Thomas was born in Chambers County, Alabama, on March 12, 1940 to the parentage of the late Ms. Miriam Thomas.
Except for a short time when he lived in Flordia, and worked as a Concrete Truck Driver, Roy was a life-long resident of Roanoke. He was a member of the East Roanoke Pure Holiness Church where he spent most of his life here in the historic East Roanoke community.
On October 23, 1977, Roy married the former Irene Joiner who preceded him in death (May 15, 2010). He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Roanoke Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Roanoke, Alabama.
Roy is survived by his only son, Rodger Bell of Anniston, Alabma; one (1) grandson, Noah Bell of Anniston, Alabama; three (3) step-grandchildren: Storyellyn Ross of San Antonio, Texas, Epiphany Ross, and Airelle Ross of Anniston, Alabama; one (1) great grandson, Zayquavious Ross of Anniston, Alabama; and finally but not least, his special cousins and caregivers: Evelyn Rowland, Teresia Rowland, and Kennis Rowland all of Roanoke, Alabama; and a host of other cousins and friends.
