THE OBITUARY
Mr. Rocelius Allen, Jr., was born on May 4, 1956, in Randolph County, Alabama, to the parentage of the late Reverend and Mrs. Rocelius and Luree (Woodgett) Allen.
At an early age, he joined the Rocky Mount Methodist Church in the Broughton Community in Randolph County, Alabama, where he attended church with his family.
Rocelius grew up and attended school in Randolph County, completing high school in Roanoke, Alabama. He left home at an early age, and went to work. He resided in the Birmingham area for many years. He worked in a casket manufacturing plant. Later relocated to Opelika to be near his sister, Ruth, who was his care-giver. Rocelius struggled with cancer and poor health for many years.
Rocelius was preceded in death by a sister, Marsha Allen Barsh, and recently by an aunt, Romita Woodgett. On Saturday, April 19, 2014, God saw fit to calm the turbulent storms that rolled within this life of 57 years; storms of ill health and cancer. Rocelius passed through the raging seas, into an oasis of peacefulness and quiet rest. He was at his home in Opelika, Lee County, Alabama. Thus ended his 57-year walk with God.
Rocelius is survived by six (6) brothers: Stanley Allen (Patricia) and Stafford Allen (Lavern), both of Roanoke, Alabama, Darrell Allen (Alice) of Dallas, Georgia, Reverend Lamar Allen (Pamela) of Powder Springs, Georgia, Reginald Allen (Lisa) of LaGrange, Georgia, and Ronald Allen both of Birmingham, Alabama; three (3) sisters: Vanessa Allen Carlisle (Sylvester) of Roanoke, Alabama, Ruth Allen Lyons (Randolph) of Opelika, Alabama and Cassandra Allen of Birmingham, Alabama; one (1) beloved uncle, Dewitt Allen of Roanoke, Alabama; and six (6) aunts: Eva Forte (Salone), Doris Thompson, Christine Allen and Agnes Allen all of Roanoke, Alabama; Jimmie Small (Clarence) of Olmsted, Ohio, Jannie Paige
(Willie) of Cleveland, Ohio; a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other loving relatives and friends.
