Dear Friends and Family of Patrick Edward Tucker:
It is with heavy hearts that we write this post.  Sadly, Patrick passed from this life on Sunday, November 12, at Grady Health System of Georgia in Atlanta,  surrounded by family, friends and loved ones.  Pat fought a long battle with chronic illness — but he managed to give many smiles to the world and make a lot of great friends who thought the world of him.  Patrick finally took his last breaths at 12:53 pm on Sunday.  Our family is heartbroken over the loss of Patrick and we now need your prayers for all of us during this time of loss.  

In Loving Memory of Patrick Edward Tucker

PATRICK EDWARD TUCKER, a native of Roanoke, and current resident of Atlanta, passed away from this earthly life Sunday, November 12, 2023. Patrick affectionately known as “Pat” was born July 24, 1957, in Roanoke, to the late Enoch Shears and Bobbie Nell Tucker Shears.

Though Pat lived in Atlanta, Georgia for over thirty years, his roots were in Roanoke. Pat played on the Handley High School Tiger’s football team and graduated from Handley. His family instilled Christian values in him, Pat confessed his faith in Christ and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Pat always loved a good time. Pat worked as a home construction worker for Thacker’s Supplies for over twenty years. Friends and family can recall his Jovial wit; he loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Pat was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcon’s Football team. One of Pat’s pastimes was watching WWE wrestling and old western films. Pat was a great man and there was never a dull moment around him.

Patrick Edward Tucker was welcomed into his heavenly rest by his father, the late Enoch Shears and mother, the late Bobbie Nell Tucker Shears; brother, Willies Tuckers and great niece, Amari Tucker on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

Pat leaves endless memories to be shared by his three daughters:  Vashonte Tucker of Canton, GA, Calese Tucker of Atlanta, and Alisha McGuire of Roanoke; one step-son, Quentin Hickman of Atlanta; Grandchildren: Akeleh McGuire, Ameila McGuire and Damian McGuire all of Roanoke and Lani’B Hickman of Atlanta;  his only sister, Teresa Shears Capers;  Aunts: Mattie Wilson (Eddie) of Atlanta, and Leola Allen of Roanoke;  Uncles:  Harry Tucker,  Larry Tucker, and Oliver Tucker (Barbara) all of  Chattanooga, TN;  very special memories with his closest friend, Shirley Jones and a host of other friends and family to celebrate the memory of Pat’s life.
