It is with our deepest and heartfelt sympathy we inform you of the passing from this life of Mr. Nathaniel Burrow, 83, formerly of 8090 County Road 258, Roanoke, AL. Mr. Burrow transitioned from this life on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Lagrange Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia.
Mr. Nathaniel Burrow was born on January 22, 1937, near Five Points, in Chambers County, Alabama, to the parentage of the late Rufus and Mattie Lee (Briskey) Burrow . Nathaniel was one of 13 children -- six sons and seven daughters born to this parentage. At an early age, he joined New Harmony Baptist Church in LaFayette, where he remained a member until his transition.
Nathaniel was preceded in death by three (3) brothers: Wyatt Burrow, Ocie B. Burrow, and Lil' Brother who died in infancy; and seven (7) sisters: Annarine Clark, Rudine Paige, Gertrude Kettles, Annie Kate Burrow who died in infancy; and Deborah Heflin, Mattie Ruth Lee and the last of his siblings to precede him in death is Ethel B. Burrow. Also preceding him were his parents, and grandparents, the late Mary (Staples) Briskey and Green Briskey and the late Wyatt and Ida Burrow.
Nathaniel married the late Corine (Heath) Burrow, who preceded him in death. Their union was blessed by the birth of five children. Four of the children preceded him in death. There were two (2) boys, and one set of twins.
Nathaniel worked in the lumber industry as a heavy equipment operator for more than 27 years, at Simms Lumber Company in LaGrange, Georgia.
We express our deepest sympathy to Mr. Burrow's immediate family which includes one surviving child -- a daughter, Mary Burrow of Roanoke, Alabama; three (3) grandchildren: Marquetta Elaine Burrow, Jamaica R. Goss and Jamica R. Goss all of Roanoke, Alabama; several great-grandchildren, two (2) brothers: William Lee "Shane" Burrow, and Cleophus Burrow (Louise); one brother-in-law, Leon Heflin all of Roanoke, Alabama; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
