It is with deep sorrow that Ms. Rebecca Gunn of Roanoke, Alabama, and Ms. Bobbie Jean Gunn of Laveen, Arizona, announce the passing of their beloved brother, Mr. Myron Jackson, age 64, of Donnelly Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Jackson transitioned from this life on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Emory Decatur Hospital in Decatur, GA.
In Loving Memory of Myron Jackson
Mr. Myron Jackson was born on March 30, 1962, in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, to the late Leon Jackson and Lelia Gunn Jackson. He was one of six children born into this family, and was raised and nurtured in the Atlanta community where he spent the entirety of his life.
Myron received his early education in the Atlanta Public School System, attending Peebles Street Elementary School and later Brown High School. He remained rooted in his hometown throughout his adult years, where he built a life marked by independence and a strong work ethic.
For more than a decade, Myron was self-employed, working diligently in the lawn care and landscaping field while also lending his skills to restaurant work. Through these trades, he demonstrated a commitment to providing for himself and maintaining a sense of pride in his work.
In addition to his parents, Myron was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. De’Ever Celestine Jackson, and a brother, Mr. James Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters: Ms. Rebecca Gunn of Roanoke, Alabama, and Ms. Bobbie Jean Gunn of Laveen, Arizona; two brothers: Mr. Andrew Phillips (Shelly) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mr. Lorenzo Gunn of Anniston, Alabama; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Though quiet in many ways, Myron’s presence was known to those who loved him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family.
