The Obituary
Trudy Turman, was born in the Bacon Level Community (Roanoke), to the parentage of the late Robert Lee Magby, Jr. and the late Ida Mae Turman on May 11, 1962.
She spent her life in the Roanoke area, attending the local schools, as well as the Friendship Baptist Church (Bacon Level Community) which she joined as a youth.
No stranger to hard work, Trudy found her passion in the health care field, devoting the larger part of her life working as a CNA at various institutions including Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke, and Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Georgia. She was also employed in the textile industry at Wehadkee Yarn Mills, Terry Manufacturing Company, Butte Knitt and the Palm Beach Company in Roanoke.
In later years, Trudy grew fond of the Turnaround Christian Center in Roanoke, and became a member under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Scott Dukus. No doubt, this move was inspired in part by a mother's pride in her own son, Patrick who had accepted God's call into the ministry.
In addition to her parents, Trudy was predeceased by a sister, Terlisa Turman. Although her life seemed brief and momentary, God blessed Trudy to see all of her sons grown men; to see most of her grandchildren; and to see her oldest son Patrick answer God's call into the ministry. Yet in the midst of all these blessings, on Friday, July 8, 2016, God in his infinite wisdom called her from this world.
She leaves to cherish many and loving memories, three sons: Pastor Patrick O. Turman (Felicia) and Reginald Turman of Roanoke; Brandon Turman of Notasulga, Alabama; a nephew whom she raised as her own son, Steven Turman of Valley, Alabama; two sisters: Kathy McCray and Nita Lane; one brother, Larry Turman all of Roanoke, Alabama; seven grandchildren: Antrivian Allen, Jamia Turman, Payton Carter, Nahla Turman, Messiah Turman, Jakez Turman, and last but not least, Ava Turman; a special friend, Michael Sands of and finally a host of loving relatives and friends.
