In Loving Memory Of Sally Emily Watts
Beloved daughter of the late Arthur Will and Mary Emily (Allen) Watts, Sally was one of three (3) children of this parentage, born November 25, 1962 in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her older brother, Arthur Curtis Watts.
Sally was reared in a Christian home with all the values associated with the Christian way of life. As a very active, outspoken and zealous member of the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, she served whenever and wherever she was needed. She served as Memberhsip and Financial Secretary, and took on many other roles. She was never afraid or ashamed to let it be known that Jesus was her Lord and Savior. To this end, she became a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church, often leading the children's ministry, or speaking words of encouragement during regular worship services.
Sally was also baptized AGAIN on the 29th day of April, 2011 at Christian Memorial Church in Roanoke, by Reverend William Heard.
Anybody who knew Sally, knew how she loved to talk. She had what many would call the "gift of gab" and a great fondness for conversing about old times. She was also dog-lover. In her youth, she worked at Palm Beach Company, and also enjoyed working as a baby-sitter, caregiver and nanny. One of the things she loved to reminisce about was time spent as a nanny for Wally Johnson, Sa'Rae Johnson, and Kevin "Megatron" Johnson whom she proudly proclaimed a future NFL Player.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Will and Mary Emily (Allen) Watts; brother Arthur Curtis Watts; and most recently her nephew, Lamont Phillips. Despite her zeal for life and a huge heart filled with love for others, ultimately, it came her time to answer death's demand, thus, she transitioned from this life on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Traylor Retirement Community in Roanoke.
Not only will she be missed by our community, Sally's memory will be cherished moreso by her only sister, Mrs. Rosie Lee (Watts) Phillips (Sammy); her sister-in-law, Emily Ann Watts; special friend, Herbert Kimble; nieces: Alitha Allen, Christino Phillips, Latasha Houston (Allen) and Samantha Houston; great nieces: Alexia Williams, Samya Houston, Shyasia Houston; nephews: Terrell Phillips, Malcolm Phillips, Timothy Parker, Bilal Thompson; great nephew: A.J. Houston -- all of Roanoke, AL; special friend: Phyllis Henry of Clarksville, Tennessee; cousins: Yolanda Lee of Roanoke, AL and James Watts (Vivian) of Toledo, OH; God-daughters: Shanee "Cuddles" Williams and Johnnie Atkins both of Roanoke, AL; aunts: Lera Longshore of Atlanta, GA, Doris Thompson and Christine Allen both of Roanoke; her uncle: Dewitt Allen, Jr. also of Roanoke; and a great host of other loving relatives and friends.
