In Loving Memory of Vera Phillips Heath

Vera Mae Phillips was born January 30, 1927, in Chambers County, Alabama to the parentage of the late Willie and Mattie Lee (Burrow) Phillips. Her family of origin included six other siblings: brothers: Walter and Luther; twin sister, Dera, and sisters: Christine, Lillian and Evelyn.

At an early age, she joined Hopewell Baptist Church -- in Abanda -- where was a soloist in the choir, and church secretary.

On March 20, 1959, she was married to the late Boss Heath, and made a beautiful home with him in the Rehope Community. Over more than 15 years, she was employed at Traylor's Nursing Home, and retired from Randolph County Hospital.

Vera lived a long active life up until her last illness. She quietly slipped away from her family and loved ones, and went home to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, at her residence 2189 County Road 236, in Roanoke.

She leaves to cherish many loving memories: a beloved sister, Evelyn Gates; her nephew and caregiver, Willie Phillips both of Roanoke, Alabama; nine (9) nephews and six (6) nieces, who loved her dearly: and a large number of great-nieces and nephews, neighbors, other loving relatives and friends.
