The Obituary
Mrs. Rosie Smith entered this life on March 12, 1912, one of thirteen children born to the parentage of the late John and Ella (Trammell) Smith) in the Wehadkee Community, Randolph County, Alabama. At an early age, she joined the Friendship Baptist Church, Bacon Level, where she remained a member throughout her adult life.
She devoted her productive years to providing domestic services to private homes. Rosie married the late Rufus Wright and their union was blessed by the birth of one daughter.
Rosie was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
On March 12 of this year, Rosie Wright was blessed to see her 100th birthday. By the sufficiency of God's amazing grace, she was favored with a 100th birthday celebration, which was held at First Baptist Church earlier this year, which she celebrated with her beloved family and friends by her side. But, as Divine Providence demanded, she departed this life on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama.
Rosie will long be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who gave many smiles to the world and memories that will be cherished by her only daughter, Ms. Barbara Wright of Sylacauga, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Parker of Roanoke, Alabama; a special nephew, James Parker, Jr. (Patricia) of Roanoke, Alabama; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
