At an early age, she united with the body of believers at the Cougar Hill C.M.E. Church in Daviston, Alabama. She later joined the County Line Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and remained a steadfast member until her health prevented her from being as active as she desired to be.

God in his lovingkindness and mercy, admitted her into his presence, and closed her eyes on August 8, 2015.

"God saw you were suffering, and the Hill was hard to climb
He simply closed your lovely eyes, a
nd whispered "Peace BeThine"
Your kindly deeds, your words of wisdom; your thoughtfulness and consideration
These will long be remembered as a source of unfaltering inspiration
You will never be forgotten though on earth you are no more.
But in memory you are with us as ALWAYS before."
