Mrs. Luree Allen Obituary

Mrs. Luree Allen, age 82, a resident of 758 County Road 35, Roanoke, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2013 at Wedowee Hospital, Wedowee, Alabama.

There will be no public viewing, however relatives and friends may visit and pay their respects, and sign the register on Monday, April 29, 2013, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The Celebration of Life, for Mrs. Allen will be observed on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 12:00 O'Clock NOON from the Rock Mills Missionary Baptist Church, 126 County Road 2207, Roanoke, with the Reverend Jerone Fannin, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery at Rock Mills Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 126 County Road 2207, Roanoke,, Alabama 36274

Biography
"Our Beloved Mom is in God's Arms"

Our Beloved Mother, Luree Woodgett Allen was born October 22, 1930 in Roanoke, Alabama to the late Crawford and Geneva Bell Woodgett. Luree received Christ at an early age at Rock Mill Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated with honors from Randolph County Training school in 1952. The following year in 1953 she married the late Rocelius Allen Sr. During that time, they were blessed to parent eight children and she was still able to continue her service to the Lord.

Luree served as first Lady, to several United Methodist Churches of the North and South Alabama District. After many years of service in the United Methodist Church, She later moved her membership back to Rock Mill Baptist Church where she resided faithfully until sickness and death.

After walking with the Lord for 82 years, she has now left to join hands with preceding love ones: (One Child) Marsha Ree Allen, (Her Husband) Rocelius Allen Jr. (Her Mother) Geneva, (Father) Crawford, (Brother) Paul, and (Sister) Catherine.

It is sad to say that she leaves to mourn: five sons: Stanley (Patricia) Allen, Sr., Rocelius Allen, Jr., Stafford (Lavern) Allen of Roanoke, AL; Darrell (Alice) Allen, of Dallas, GA; Rev. Lamar (Pamela) Allen of Power Springs, GA; and two daughters Vanessa (Sylvester) Carlise of Roanoke, AL; Ruth (Randolph) Lyons of Opelika, AL; and three step-children: Reginal Allen, of LaGrange, GA; Ronald Allen and Cassandra Allen, of Birmingham, AL; three sisters Eva (Salone) Forte, Roanoke, AL; Jimmie (Clarence) Small, Olmsted, OH; Jannie (Willie) Paige, Cleveland, OH; three beloved sisters-in-law: Doris Thompson, Christine Allen and Agnes Allen; one beloved brother-in-law, DeWitt Allen of Roanoke, Alabama; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grand children, one great, great grandchild; and a host of loving nephews and nieces relative and friends.
