Mrs. Karen McFarland Obituary

With sincere sympathy, we note the passing from this life of Mrs. Karen J. Hill McFarland, 52, a resident of Roanoke, Alabama.

Mrs. McFarland transitioned from this life on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.

Public Visitation and viewing hours for Mrs. McFarland will be observed on Sunday Afternoon, after 1:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Mrs. McFarland are scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2015, to be held from Christian Memorial Baptist Church, 1644 U.S. Highway 431 North, Roanoke, Alabama 36274.

Burial will follow in East Roanoke Cemetery, Corner of Avenue A and Chemical Avenue, Roanoke, Alabama immediately after the services on Monday.

In Loving Memory Of Mrs. Karen J. Hill McFarland


Miss Karen J. Hill was born December 10, 1962 in Roanoke, Alabama to the parentage of Mary Collins and the late Ernest Parker.

Karen graduated from Handley High School in 1984. She was united in marriage with Mr. Willie McFarland and blessed with one daughter, Kenya Hill-McFarland.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Parker; one sister, Barbara Hill and two brothers, Jimmy L. Thompson and Jimmy Parker. Mrs. Hill transitioned from this life at East Alabama Medical Center on August 8, 2015.

Mrs. McFarland is survived by her beloved daughter, Kenya Hill-McFarland (Eugene); husband, Willie McFarland; mother, Mary Hill; five (5) brothers: James Hill, Bobby Parker, Donald Parker, Donnie Hill, and Kenneth Hill; seven (7) sisters: Dorothy Henderson, Mary Jane Ballard, Myrtice Dozier, Ruth Hawkins, Earnestine Dozier, Pamela Hill, and Tiffany Hill; one granddaughter, Tiana Hill; two (2) special cousins, Ella Ware, and Jacqueline Johnson; special friends, Susan Slaughter and Rita Staples, all of Roanoke, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
