Grace joined the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church in Roanoke at an early age and was a faithful member until her health began to fail. She started working as a housekeeper when she was very young. She worked for Irene Finch and her family for many years. She loved cooking and also worked at the cafe next to the Minnifield house (Ferrell Service Station and Diner). Grace was also a big Atlanta Braves baseball fan.
Grace was united in marriage to the late Reverand Louis W. Ferrell and she will be most remembered as this well known minister's wife. She loved to travel with him while he served as pastor.
Mrs. Ferrell was preceded in death by: her mother and father, her husband; one brother, Wyatt Poole, Jr.; five sisters, Mrs. Jimmie. L. Heard, Mrs. Fannie M. Moody, Ms. Lurlene Poole, Ms. Margeret Poole, and Ms. Maggie Lois Poole.
Grace passed away on Sunday morning June 16, 2013, at Traylor's Nursing Home in Roanoke, Alabama.
Grace was very much loved, supported and will be deeply missed by her four (4) sons: Louis Ferrell, Jr., Isaac Ferrell of Wisconson. Willie George Ferrell and Willington Poole, Sr. of Stone Mountain, Georgia; and her three (3) very special nieces whom she cherished as daughters: Luvenia Poole and Meme Bell both of Roanoke, Alabama, and Jeraline Poole Finch of Atlanta, Georgia; lastly she is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
