Mrs. Carrie Paige Obituary

With deepest sympathy, we announce the passing from this life, of Mrs. Carrie Lillie Paige, age 92, a former resident of 859 Schuessler Street, Roanoke, Alabama. Mrs. Paige transitioned from this life on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama.

Public viewing and visiting hours for Mrs. Paige will be observed on Friday, August 14, 2015, after 12:00 Noon, and ending at 6:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Paige will be observed on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. from the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, 372 Waller Mill Road, Roanoke, Alabama. Reverend R.L. Heflin, Pastor will bring Words Of Encouragement, Reverend Myris L. Bell will Officiate, Reverend L.B. Houston will serve as Eulogist.

Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church, Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama.

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Carrie Lillie Paige

Miss Carrie Lillie Williams was born in Chambers County, Alabama on November 11, 1922, to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy Lee Williams and Mae Susie Harrison Williams. Her family of origin consisted of a large and loving family of siblings including: brothers: Percy L. Williams and Robert Lewis Williams; and sisters: Winnie L. Gilham of Washington, DC, Christine Williams Trammell and Ethel Mae Williams Cannon, of Roanoke, Alabama, now deceased.

At an early age, Carrie joined Sweet Home Baptist Church in Five Points, Alabama, where she remained a faithful member throughout her lifetime.

Carrie united in marriage with the late Mr. Otis Paige. Their union was fruitful giving rise to two sons, one daughter, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

As many of our African American elders did, Mrs. Paige survived, and did well as a domestic worker. Mrs. Paige resided in Connecticut for many years, where she worked in environmental services, and continued to enjoy cleaning, ironing and caring for others.

She was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Paige. Carrie Lillie spent many wonderful years in the Traylor's Nursing Home, where she would often visit with relatives and friends. Carrie Lillie departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama.

She leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories; one (1) son, Elgin Paige of Atlanta, Georgia, and one daughter, Rosetta Paige-Bailey, of Roanoke, Alabama; one (1) brother, Willie Howard Williams (Catherine) Atlanta, Georgia; one (1) sister, Annie D. Trammell of Roanoke, Alabama; one (1) brother-in-law, Reverend William H. Trammell of Roanoke, Alabama; and one (1) sister-in-law, Catherine Williams of Atlanta, Georgia; a special grandson, Daryll Paige; and a great host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren, other loving relatives and frrnds.
