Mr. Willie Hatcher Obituary

With deepest regret we announce the passing from this life, of Brother Willie B. Hatcher, 59, a resident of 382 Luckie Street, Roanoke, Alabama. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017; Mr. Hatcher was at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.

Public Viewing and visitation hours for Mr. Hatcher will be observed on Sunday afternoon, August 13, 2017, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

Graveside Services for Mr. Hatcher will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm from Skyview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Welch, Alabama. The Reverend Jeffery D. Rosser, will officiate and serve as Eulogist. Other ministers sharing the roster will include Reverend William Heard, and Reverend W.C. Houston.

In Loving Memory Of Willie B. Hatcher

Willie B. Hatcher was born in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama, January 1, 1958, to the parentage of the late Robert Lee and Christine (Van Horn) Hatcher, both Jefferson County natives.

He was reared in Roanoke, in a loving christian home, where hard work and family love was emphasized. At an early age, he joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke, where he remained a member until death. He graduated from Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama. After graduation, Willie B. enlisted in the United States Army, and serving for a short time.

He was married to the former Elaine Almond of Franklin, Georgia.

Willie B. will be remembered as a hard-working and generous young man, who would give you the shirt off his back. His employment history was both long and full. He was most recently employed at Plantation Patterns in Wadley, where he worked as a Packer. Just before accepting employment there, he had held employment at Relintless for two years. Prior to that, Willie B. worked for 20+ years at Jac Motors in Franklin, Georgia. Finally, he also held a long tenure of employment at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke s well as Burger King in Roanoke and Lagrange.

Willie B. was preceded in death by both parents, Robert Lee and Christine Hatcher; two (2) brothers: Tyrone (Ty) Hatcher, Robert Hatcher, Jr., and one (1) sister Gloria Hatcher Lynch. He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Lee County, Alabama.

Celebrating his life, mourning his passing, and cherishing many loving memories are his three (3) children: Christy Foster of Roanoke, Alabama, Brandon Hatcher of Franklin, Georgia and Willie Bernard Edmondson of Cleveland, Ohio; one (1) granddaughter, Tamerica Foster of Roanoke, Alabama; one (1) brother, John Thomas Hatcher (Donna) of Roanoke, Alabama; three (3) sisters: Shirley Kelley of Roanoke, Alabama, Dorothy Ann Hatcher of Hughley, Alabama, and Angelia Delores Hatcher of Welch, Alabama; his very special and last aunt, Margie Monroe of Chicago, Illinois, many loving nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and friends.
