With our deepest regret, we announce the passing from this life of Mr. Emmett T. Johnson, Jr., 53, a resident of 449 Cotney Line, Roanoke, Alabama. Mr. Johnson transitioned from this life on Thursday evening, April 18, 2019 at North East Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.
Public viewing and visiting hours for Mr. Johnson will be observed here at the funeral home, on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
The Homegoing Celebration will be observed on Tuesday, April 23, at 11:00 AM from the Friendship Baptist Church, 5979 County Road 26, Wadley, Alabama 36276, with the Pastor, Reverend Timothy Hughley officiating.
Pallbearers will include: Devin Johnson, Theron Johnson, Xavier Gipson, Brandon Gipson, Kevin Myers, Jermaine Sims, and Derrick Welch.
Flower Attendants will include: Cousins and Friends Of The Family.
Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery at Friendship Baptist Church, Wadley, immediately following the service.
Emmett T. Johnson, Jr. was born March 23, 1966 in Frankfurt, Germany to the parentage of the late Emmett T. Johnson, Sr., and Mary (Houston) Johnson.
At an early age, he confessed Christ, and joined the church of his family, Zion Rest Baptist Church, Wedowee, Alabama; but attended church at Friendship Baptist Church in Wadley, Alabama.
He attended public school in Randolph County, Alabama.
Emmett, Jr. -- fondly known as "Junior" -- kept himself busy by hiring himself out as a handy-man, and performing odd jobs for others.
He transitioned from this life on Thursday evening, April 18, 2019 at North East Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Calhoun County, Alabama.
Emmett is survived by his son, Darrlynn Dequinn Johnson; an adopted daughter, Lakeshia Allen (Maurice); four (4) grandchildren Shaniya Johnson, Deundrea Gray, McKenzie Allen and MaKayla Allen; his devoted mother, Mrs. Mary Frances Johnson. He will moreover, be deeply missed by his sisters, Gail Veal (Robert), Beverly Welch (Reverend Arthur Welch); his brothers: Darrow Johnson (DeMorris) and Christopher Johnson (Tiffany); step-brothers and sisters: Shoan Thompson, Stacey Boddie (Yolanda), Tikethra Horton (Tony), Chad Boddie (April) and Isaih Johnson; a close cousin, Wendy Glenn; a close friend, Teresa Fairchild; a host of very close nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, uncles and many other beloved relatives and friends.
