Mr. Edwan Bear" Obituary

Mr. Edwan Hawkins, 35 also known as "Lil' Bear", a resident of 902 Chestnut Street, Roanoke, Alabama passed from this life on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Wedowee Hospital.

Public Viewing and Visitng hours for Mr. Hawkins will be observed on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm here at the funeral home.

The Home Going service for Mr. Hawkins will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 2:00 O'clock pm at the Pure Holiness Church of God, 1407 Satterwhite Street, Roanoke, Alabama. Elder Joseph Greathouse, Pastor will officiate and serve as Eulogist. Other ministers sharing the roster will include Reverend Gilbert Staples, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Roanoke aand others.

Burial will follow in East Roanoke Cemetery, located in the historic East Roanoke District at the Corner of Chemical Avenue, and Avenue "A".

Funeral attendants -- Pall Bearers and Flower Bearers -- will be friends of the family.

In Loving Memory of Mr. Edwan Walter Hawkins aka "Lil' Bear"

"Lil' Bear" was born July 27, 1981 in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama to the parentage of Mr. Eddie W. Morgan, and the late Ms. Jessie Hawkins.

As a young man growing up in Roanoke, his mother took him and his siblings to Pure Holiness Church of God, where Elder John Greathouse was the pastor... and he and his siblings were raised up in the Pentecostal Faith under Elder Greathouse and his lovely wife, Sister Barbara Greathouse. He remained a member there throughout his life.

He graduated from The Alabama Institute for deaf and Blind (AIDB) in Talladega, Alabama in 1999. After graduation, he accepted employment as a construction worker for Zachery Construction Company out of San Antonio, Texas. He remained employed with Zachery for several years, until sustaining an injury that left him disabled, and unable to continue this type of employment.

"Lil' Bear" resided in Newsite, Alabama for a short time, later returning to his home, in Roanoke.

He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at Wedowee, Hospital in Wedowee.

We express our deepest regret to his entire family, Celebrating his life, mourning his departure and cherishing his memory: including his father, Mr. Eddie W. Morgan (Yolanda) of Roanoke, Alabama; two sisters, Jelander Hawkins (Michael) and Jessica Hawkins (Tyrone); a very special aunt whom he loved as a mother, Helen Hawkins all of Roanoke, Alabama; five (5) Uncles: Ulice Hawkins, Billy Hawkins (Crystal), and Ronnie Morgan, all of Roanoke, Alabama, J.C. Tatum (Aretha) of Selma, Alabama and Reverend Lawrence Watts of Birmingham, Alabama; four (4) other aunts: Acquilla Woods of Huntsville, Alabama, Susie Ann Morgan of LaGrange, Georgia, Pam Morgan of Tennessee and NaPate Ware of Roanoke, Alabama; two (2) nieces, Jessie Stegall and Aaliya Horton, all of Roanoke, Alabama; a special friend, Mr. James Lyons of Newsite, Alabama; and a host of neighbors, other loving relatives and friends.
