In Loving Memory Of Cornelius Terrence Nolan

Cornelius Terrence Nolan was born December 24, 1981, in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama to the parentage of the late Charles Reeder, Jr. and the late Cynthia Sherell Nolan Shears.

During childhood, Cornelius regularly attended and joined First Baptist Church in Roanoke. Later in life, he grew fond of Pine Flat Primitive Baptist Church in Wedowee, where he attended frequently.

Cornelius attended Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama, where he was an enthusiastic member of the football team. As a teenager, he dreamed of playing football professionally. His passion was high school football, until a torn ACL ended his aspirations to play beyond high school.

On Octoer 23, 2006, Cornelius married the love of his life, Ms. Natasha Bailey of Wedowee. Their marraige was blessed by the birth of three children -- a son and two daughters. Cornelius worked at the Hub Restaurant, as well as the Roanoke Winn Dixie. However, in the prime of his young life, he was confounded by health problems. The last eight years of his life was filled with the struggle to win a exhausting and seemingly unwinnable battle against diabetes and its related complications.

Cornelius was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Sherell Nolan Shears and very recently by his father, Charles Reeder, Jr.; two brothers: Keith Shears and Christopher Shears; and an uncle, Mitchell Leon Ogletree. On Friday, October 13, 2017, Cornelius' battle with illness ended in victory. While it was not a victory in the sense that his loved ones would have wished for, it was nevertheless a victory. He was at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Cornelius' life and legacy will long be cherished and remembered by his large loving family which includes: his wife, Natasha Nolan; son, Orlando Bailey; daughters, Ja'Keriona Nolan and Al'Taniyah Nolan all of Wedowee, Alabama; Godson, Jadarius Andrews of Roanoke, Alabama; his step-father, Lawrence Nelson of Franklin, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Angela Bailey of Wedowee, Alabama; three (3) brothers: Patrick Nolan of Roanoke, Alabama, Charles Reeder, III of Atlmore, Alabama and Untereaus Reeder of Mobile, Alabama; twin step-brothers, Jaqavious and Zanqavious Swint; three (3) sisters: Marquita Shears of Carrollton, Georgia, Lateisha Shears of Franklin, Georgia and Latasha Shears of Roanoke, Alabama; two (2) sisters-in-law: Catrenia Bailey (Warner) and Kathy Bailey both of Wedowee, Alabama; step-grandfather, Rowe Edward Winston of Roanoke, Alabama; three (3) uncles: Harold Vernon Ogletree (Engrid) of Pensacola, Florida, Maxwell Reeder of Dayton, Ohio, and Michael Henderson (Bernadette) of Pinson, Alabama; seven (7) aunts: Tracy Goss (Thomas) of Roanoke, Alabama; Debbie Nolan (Claude) of Mobile, Alabama; Barbara Nolan (Walter) of Roanoke, Alabama; Tereon Reeder of Atlanta, Georgia; Cynthia Hooks (Stanley) of LaGrange, Georgia, Catherine Brown (Christopher) of Dayton, Ohio, and Margie Ogletree of Roanoke, Alabama; three (3) great aunts: Catherine White, Dicie Sims, and Audrey Lee (James) of Roanoke, Alabama; one (1) great-uncle Angelo Nolan of Roanoke, Alabama; two (2) great-great aunts: Mamie Hines of Roanoke, Alabama and Mary Hines of Anniston, Alabama; finally but not least, a great host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
