With deepest regret, we announce the home-going of Mrs. Minnie Heath Prothro, who passed from this life just one day prior to her 100th birthday. Mrs. Prothro was a native Randolph Countian, and long-time resident of 1966 County, Road 44 in Wedowee, Alabama, currently residing at Roanoke Health Care Center, 680 Seymour Drive, Roanoke; She transitioned quietly on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama.
IN LOVING MEMORY OF MINNIE HEATH PROTHRO
Mrs Minnie Heath Prothro was born in Randolph County, Alabama on August 3, 1916 to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Burl and Maudie (Phillips) Heath.
She was united in marriage with the late Joe D. Prothro.
She was a life-long and dedicated member of the Burkes Chapel United Methodist Church in Wedowee. Throughout her life, she was also an enthusiastic devotee to the Associations, and could be frequently observed enjoying the fellowship that took place during the Primitive Baptist Association.
As a young woman, she busied herself doing domestic work. She also enjoyed getting out in her garden every now and then, to partake of the delicacies growing there.
Minnie was preceded in death by both parents; brothers: John, Robert and Olan Heath; sisters: Katie Stone, Mae Greer, Rosie Heath and Annie Askew; one son, Willie J. Prothro; and daughters, Rosie Lee Wright, and Mary Frances Pickard. Just one day away from her 100th birthday, God in his infinent wisdom called Minnie from labor to reward. She was at Wedowee Hospital in Wedowee, Alabama.
She leaves to cherish many loving memories, one son, Herman Pearson (Jewel) of Wedowee, Alabama; four daughters: Mayola Houston, Willie Dean Roundtree and Flora Wright of Wedowee, Alabama; and Maudie Brown of Wadley, Alabama; three special grandsons: Lee Wilson, Willie B. Houston, and James Glenn; a special granddaughter, Pycilla Thomas; twenty-five (25) loving grandchildren, forty-nine (49) great-grandchildren, thirteen (13) great-grandchildren, and finally eleven (11) great-great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.
