Mrs. Minnie C. Higgins, age 78, a resident of 296 County Road 969, Wadley, Alabama passed away at Hospice LaGrange on Sunday morning, August 5, 2012.Minnie Clara Brady was born in Randolph County, Alabama, on January 4, 1934 to the parentage of the late Eli Brady and Mary (Ross) Wright.
She wed the late David Lewis Higgins who preceded her in death May 6, 2010. Their union gave rise to a devoted daughter, Mary.
She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law: George Broom (Pumpkin), and Josh Watts; and sisters-in-law: Margaret Treadwell, Sidney Henrietta Broom, and Louise Higgins.
Minnie Higgins was a Christian woman who enjoyed working outside in the yards, going for long rides in the car, and loved sweets especially cakes. She will be remembered as a long-time employee at both the Traylor's and Rosser's Nursing Homes, where she enjoyed caring for the elderly and aged. She was a long-time member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Wadley, where she remained a faithful member throughout her adult life.Her last days were spent in the LaGrange Hospice, LaGrange, Georgia, where she slowly drifted into eternity, ending her 78-year earthly sojourn. Minnie Clara Higgins closed her eyes for the last time, and fell asleep in death on Sunday morning, August 5, 2012.
She leaves to celebrate her life, mourn her departure, and cherish her loving memory: a daughter, Mrs. Mary Treadwell Heard (Quinton) of Roanoke, Alabama; four (4) grandchildren including: a special grandson, Timothy Treadwell of Huntsville, Texas; grandson Montavious Staples and granddaughters, Kaylin Treadwell and Erica Treadwell all of Roanoke, Alabama; a brother-in-law: Robert Higgins of Wadley, Alabama, and sister-in-law, Clemmie Watts of Atlanta, Georgia; special cousins: Edna Blakes of Roanoke, Alabama; William Watts, Sr., and William Watts, Jr., both of Wadley, Alabama; a special friend, Icie Langston of Wadley, Alabama; and finally a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
