In Loving Memory of Michael Clyde Carswell
Michael Clyde Carswell, a professed Christian, is a beloved father, grandfather of nine (9), and brother. He was born in Albany, Dougherty County, GA on July 9, 1970 to the parentage of the late Willie Carswell and Mildred "Millie" Elaine (Causey) Carswell.
Michael devoted his working years laboring as a production worker in the building materials industry. He was employed at Cornerstone Building Brands, a national manufacturer of very high quality exterior building products. For ten years, Michael worked in Cornerstone's Silverline division, which produces windows and doors.
No matter how many years passed, Michael could never quite get his love for auto racing out of his system. Aside from his career, Michael loved Nascar and in the past, had owned his own race car — #28. During that time in his life, he frequently enjoyed racing at East Alabama Dirt Track. Perhaps one of the proudest moments of his life was in 1997, when he won a plaque for coming in 4th in an "Enduro Point." competition; along with many trophies. Along with his love for auto racing, he also enjoyed auto mechanics, which allowed him to spend time tinkering on his race car.
At the age of 53, Michael slipped away from his family and friends, and this world, to dwell in eternity.
Michael leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories, two (2) daughters, Crystal Weldon and Jessica Carswell both of Valley; and a son, Joseph Carswell (Skylar) of Fredonia; two (2) sisters: Deborah Shelnut (David) of Palmetto, GA, Brenda Hernandez Lauer (Robin) of Laverna, TX; a brother, Scott Carswell (Michelle) of Cusseta, GA; and nine (9) grandchildren.
