Mary Alice Goodwin Staples, age 40, a resident of 89 King David Turner Road, Wedowee, Alabama passed away on Thursday evening, January 6, 2011 at Wedowee Hospital.
Public Visitation and Viewing for Mrs. Staples will be observed Wednesday, January 12, 2011, between the hours of 12:00 NOON and 6:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Staples will be held at 11:00 O'Clock A.M., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church, 744 Woodland Ave Northwest, Wedowee, AL 36278, with the Pastor, Reverend Clarence Foster officiating. Reverend Curtis Spidell will serve as Eulogist.
Burial will follow in Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The Obituary
Mary Alice Goodwin was born January 14, 1970 to the parentage of Bunyan Goodwin, Sr., and Mary Francis (Barsh) Goodwin Jones-Scott. She attended Randolph County Schools in Wedowee, Alabama.
She worked as a manager at the Wedowee Jack's Restaurant.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by an infant son who died at birth, her father, Bunyan Goodwin, and a sister, Rachel Goodwin.
When this world could no longer afford her a home, she quietly departed this life on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Wedowee Hospital, in Wedowee.
Mary Alice leaves to cherish many loving memories her husband, Jerry Staples of Wedowee, Alabama; one (1) son, Brandon Goodwin (Mikko) of Wedowee, Alabama; and three (3) daughters: Jaquetta Goodwin of Roanoke, Alabama, Brittany Goodwin of Talladega, Alabama, and Gabrielle Jones of Wedowee, Alabama; her mother, Mary Francis Goodwin Jones-Scott (Fred) of Roanoke, Alabama; her step-grandmother, Ruth Morris of Lineville, Alabama; one (1) brother, Bunyan Goodwin, Jr. of Wedowee, Alabama; three (3) uncles: Stackson Morris of Lineville, Alabama, Billy Goodwin of Newell, Alabama and Richard Goodwin of Dayton, Ohio; seven (7) aunts, Fannie Bell Gilmore of Wedowee, Alabama and Geraldine Daughty of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mary Lois Rowland of Roanoke, Alabama, Viree Turner, Bobbie Jean Barsh, Judy Barsh and Catherine Spidell of Wedowee, Alabama; three (3) nephews, Javoris G. Scott, Michael Hill, Breyden Williams; and two (2) nieces, Kaneisha Hughley and Kiera Hill; a very special cousin Tasha Marable; a special friend, Theresa Harrington; and many other loving relatives neighbors and friends.
