In Loving Memory Of Ms. Julie Mae (Baily) Boyd

Julie Mae Baily Boyd, the daughter of the late Herman Baily and the late Jessie Mae Wright Baily, departed from this earthly life July 4, 2023, in Lineville, AL at the age of 72.  Julie was born November 4, 1950, in Wedowee, Alabama and resided as a life-long resident of Randolph County, Alabama.

Julie earned a living as a seamstress, working with the Lamar Manufacturing Company, of Bowdon, Georgia for more than twelve years.  Julie was known for her delicious soul food and barbecue; Julie and her late husband, James followed their dreams and opened the “Big M” Barbecue restaurant which was a prosperous enterprise.  She had a heart for her family and friends. Julie lived her life as a Christian following the Lord’s example of kindness; she joined Antioch Baptist Church.

Julie was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Aaron Boyd; her parents the late Herman Baily and late Jessie Mae Wright Baily; a sister, Ruby Lois Houston; and her oldest grandson, Aaron Deran Boyd, who all welcomed her into eternity on July 4, 2023.

Julie’s legacy of love and kindness with be remembered by her children; five daughters: Jessie Angel (Eddie), Mary Thurman, Stacy Boyd (Willie Battle) all of Wedowee; and Kimberly Ann Houston of Childersburg, AL; four sons: Steven Boyd (Valerie) of Rome, GA, Randy Boyd, Rodrecus Houston all of Wedowee; and Quartisa Houston of Ashland; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Mary Martin of Dayton, OH; a special niece, Ruby Ann Hicks of Roanoke; a devoted friend Queen Ethel Wright (David) of Wedowee; a loving cousin, Robert Bailey of Wedowee; and finally but not least — a host of relatives and family who will always remember Julia in their hearts.
