It is with deepest heartfelt sympathy we inform you of the passing from this life of Mr. John Samuel Bailey, 68, a resident of 6004 Tipton Drive, Temple Hills, Maryland. Mr. Bailey transitioned from this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Clinton's Nursing Home, Baltimore, Prince Georges County, Maryland.
A native of Randolph County, Mr. Bailey is the son of the late Mr. Olin Bailey and the late Mrs. Ocie Mae (Treadwell) Bailey. At an early age, Samuel confessed Christ, and joined the family church, Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Wedowee, AL. He worked in the pulpwood and logging industry for a while. Later he relocated to Maryland, where he remained until his home going. While residing in Maryland, for more than 20 years, he worked in the construction industry and could be called "a jack-of-all-trades." He operated cranes and other heavy equipment like back-hoes and bull doziers; and as a result of his hard work, he earned good money during those years.
He was preceded in death by three (3) brothers: John Henry Bailey, Johnny Lewis Thompson (formerly of Heflin), Booker T. Bailey (formerly of Roanoke); and a sister, Thelma Lewis (formerly of Nashville, TN). He transitioned from this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Clinton's Nursing Home, Baltimore, Prince Georges County, Maryland.
Mr. Bailey is survived by a son, Anthony J. Bailey, and a daughter, Maleesa Ann Hurston of Huguley, Alabama; a special friend, Doris Sellman of Temple Hills, MD; one (1) brother, Willie Frank Bailey of Wedowee, AL; and a special niece, Regena Gutierrez of Huguley, Alabama; two (2) step-sisters: Peggy Ross and Annie Ruth Alexander both of Hampton, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives.
