The Obituary
Mr. Joel (Jack) Fernando Paige was born August 23, 1954 to the parentage of the late Robert Joel Paige and Ruby Louise (Davenport) Paige in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama. He was the second of four children born to this parentage.

As a youth, Jack joined the Saint Paul Baptist Church, which is situated in a popular part of town known as “Hill City” where he also made many lifelong friends. All his friends lovingly called him “Coon-Jack.” He began his education at the historic Randolph County Training School, later transferring to Handley High School. As a student, he took an interest and participated in many activities, such as the Progressive Youth Club, a group of youngsters united in the effort to support and promote wholesome recreation in Roanoke, Alabama. He married Gale Trammell at an early age, and was blessed with one son. Jack worked 30+ years at Franklin Aluminum, where he met a life-long friend, Dale (Barfield) Heistand. Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends in the Hunting Club. He became loving friends with Ruth Parker after returning home from Georgia.

Jack was a true outdoorsman, and an animal fancier, and got a lot of enjoyment out of spending time with his pet chihuahua, and pet snake.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Louise, and father Robert Joel Paige With the passage of time, he began to decline. He lived his last years of life as a community member of Roanoke Heal Care Center. Jack became friends with everyone during his stay. He was considered "The Boss" by most of the staff and members. They were all one big happy family." There were many prayer warriors submitting prayers on his behalf. Sadly, the answer that comes, is not always the answer we want or hope for. Ultimately, God in his wise providence, granted him reprieve from his failing body on Monday, June 1, 2015, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Alabama, where he passed from this life into eternal peace and immortality.

In the peak years of his life, Jack was energetic, outgoing, and lived a beautiful life, giving many smiles to the world. We will cherish the beautiful memories that Joel gave to the world. As a devoted companion and father, he gave his family plenty of smiles and wisdom about life. To his friends, he gave plenty of beautiful words filled with jokes and laughter.

He leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories: two (2) children: a son, Chawn Demetrius Paige (Diane) and four (4) granddaughters: Taylor, Tiana, Alyssa and Loreli of Atlanta, Georgia; and daughter, Ebony Johnson Parham (Harold) and three (3) grandsons: Jacamby, Jalonni and Jalen of Carrollton, Georgia; three (3) brothers, Jeffery Paige (Beverly) of Roanoke, Alabama, Timothy Moss of Chicago, Illinois, and Tony Rowland (Wife) of Atlanta, Georgia; two (2) sisters: Linda Paige Stewart of Roanoke, Alabama, and Angel B. Person of Buford, Georgia; one (1) aunt, Mrs. Edith Hall of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two (2) very special friends: Dale Heistand of Franklin, Georiga, and Dorothy Pinkard and Family; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
