The Obituary
Mr. Williams was born Aug. 4, 1939, to the late James Otis Williams Sr. and Allie Pearl Cox Williams in Graham. Jesse was a member of Bethenia United Methodist Church.
Mr. Williams had a strong work ethic and had a passion for the job he did. "Jep," as he was called by his friends, learned the value of hard work at an early age. He worked in the construction industry in the Atlanta area for many years. He eventually returned to Randolph County, where he worked for the City of Wedowee in the maintenance department until retirement. In his spare time, "Jep" enjoyed wrestling and University of Alabama football.
He leaves to cherish many memories: one sister, Eva Bell Goodwin of Graham; two brothers, Roy Williams of Massillon, Ohio, and Emmett Gay Williams of Chicago; two half-sisters, Debra Williams and Fannie Williams, both of Graham; one half-brother, James Otis Williams of Graham; two step-children, Robert and Linda Bailey, both of Wedowee; one special niece and caregiver, Louise Williams of Graham; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lessie Bailey Williams; one brother, Alvin; and three sisters, Mattie, Marie and Claudia.
