It is with our deepest and heartfelt sympathy that we inform you of the passing from this life of Mr. James Louis Robinson, Jr., age 69, a former resident of Wedowee, AL; currently residing at Roanoke Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Roanoke. Mr. Robinson transitioned from this life on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Lee County, AL.
James was born in Birmingham, Jefferson County, AL on July 31, 1950 to the parentage of the late James Louis Robinson, Sr. and Susie (Knight) Robinson. He attended Ullman High School in Birmingham. James was passionate about sports, especially football and his favorite team was The University of Alabama Crimson Tide. James also was fond of horses, and enjoyed watching horse races. He loved spending family time with his children. After spending most of his years in Birmingham, he returned to his family home in Wedowee.
At a young age, he attended Pine Flat Primitive Baptist Church in Wedowee, AL with his grandfather, Rob Knight.
James was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Robinson Raspberry. He is survived by two (2) sons: James Robinson of Cleveland, OH, and Daryl Robinson of Birmingham, AL; three (3) daughters: Kamilah Robertson and Fatuma Robertson and Victina Robinson Gray all of Birmingham, AL; a sister, Jennifer Robinson Calloway (Jason) of Cleveland, OH that never gave up on him until he found salvation; seventeen (17) grandchildren; eight (8) great-grandchildren; Special Nieces: Sylvia Robinson Williams (Robert) of Baltimore, MD, Laretha (Trina) Reynolds
Of Cleveland, OH; Special granddaughter Jessica Robinson of Cleveland, OH; Sister-Cousins, Bobbie Jean Williams and Gloria Bledsoe (John) both of Wedowee, AL; and finally a host of loving relatives and friends.
During this most difficult time, we pray for God's comfort for his entire family, extended family and many friends.
