With heavy hearts, we regret to announce the passing from this life of our beloved neighbor and friend, Mrs. Freda N. Ester Lindsey, 62, a resident of 9120 South Keeler Avenue, Oak Lawn, Cook County, IL 60353. Mrs. Lindsey transitioned from this life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Freda Nanette Ester-Lindsey was born April 3, 1957 to the parentage of the late Deacon Marvin and Mrs. Alberta (Fuller) Ester in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama.
At an early age Freda joined The First Baptist Church in Roanoke, AL. During her childhood, the family migrated from Roanoke to Chicago, Illinois, where she attended Oakenwald Elementary School and graduated from Martin Luther King High School.
Freda was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and businesswoman. Freda fiercely entered the healthcare industry at the age of 19, taking on several roles within Chicago’s top-rated institutions, such as Provident, Northwestern, & Rush Hospital.
She indulged herself so fervently that she began her own medical billing company, Professional Billing for a Purpose, from her gained knowledge in the field. She and Glenn worked with hundreds of medical doctors, surgeons and billing management companies resulting in a successfully run business for 30 years.
She later joined Golden Rule Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL under the leadership of Reverend James McKelker. Today, Glenn and Freda have been proud members of Triedstone Full Gospel Baptist Church for 8 years. Freda truly enjoyed making others happy and being a servant of God. She hosted church fundraisers, fashion shows, company picnics and holiday parties, family trips and just about every family function; she even was a talent scout and music manager.
She met her would-be husband, Glenn Lindsey in 1975; they have been married for 40 years -- and created two handsome, healthy sons: Glenn Lindsey, Jr. and Marvin Lindsey. Freda was truly the matriarch of each side of her family: a Gift of Love, Guidance, Tenacity and Wisdom that kept everyone acquainted and a close-knit union.
On Saturday February 22, 2020 Freda made her transition from Earth to Angel.
She leaves to celebrate her life, mourn her departure and cherish many wonderful memories: her loving husband Glenn Lindsey, Sr, two awesome sons: Glenn Lindsey, Jr. and Marvin Lindsey; four brothers: Charles Ester (Evella), James Ester, Marvin Ester, Jr, and Thomas Ester (Laura); and a host of aunts, uncles, brothers-and-sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and family friends. She will sincerely be missed, and most certainly be celebrated!
Her final words were "Be happy & Be Persistent!
