IN LOVING MEMORY OF ERVIN LEE TUCKER

Mr. Ervin Lee Tucker was the third of 10 children born in Five Points, Chambers County, Alabama to the parentage of the late William Cofield and Mary Sue (Tucker) Collins, on August 8, 1949.

Under the loving influence of his mother, Ervin joined Bethel United Methodist Church in the historic East Roanoke District. As a youth. Ervin grew up and attended school at the historic Randolph County Training School (RCTS) in Roanoke, Alabama.

Ervin was proud of the fact that as a young man, he signed up to go to Job Corps. This afforded him a great opportunity to travel to Butte, Montana to learn brick masonary and welding... vocational skills that served him well.

After a years-long courtship, on January 31, 2003, Ervin united in marriage with the love of his life, the late Mary Francis McCurty. Their union gave rise to a loving daughter, Karen, and three loving grandchildren whom they both doted on. They remained faithful companions for over forty (40) years.

For several years, Ervin worked for Washington Brothers' Logging in LaGrange, Georgia; he later worked as the custodian/janitor for Handley Middle School in Roanoke. Ervin's zeal for athletics fostered his enjoyment of his years with the school system. He was an enthusiastic fan of Handley High School Football, and never missed a game; He also loved Auburn football, and never missed an Auburn game. After several years, in 2011, he retired from the school, but continued to love the games. In his retirement years, his favorite pasttimes became fishing, playing Georgia lottery, and Auburn football.

In addition to his father, Ervin was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Tucker and his wife, Mary Francis. However, he quietly reunited with them on Thursday, March 23, 2017, when he slipped away from the cares of this world. He was at his residence in Roanoke, Alabama.
