With deepest regret we announce the passing from this life of Mr. Earl Eugene Pogue, (53) a resident of 446 Rebecca Lane, Apartment #36, Roanoke, Alabama. Mr. Pogue was on Borders Street in Roanoke, Alabama visiting with friends, when he transitioned.
Public viewing and visitation for Mr. Pogue will be observed on Wednesday, November 22, from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at East Roanoke Pure Holiness Church Of God, prior to funeral services.
The Celebration Of Life will be observed on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the East Roanoke Pure Holiness Church Of God, 311 Wright's Place, Roanoke. Pastor Timothy Wright will officiate and serve as Eulogist. Burial will follow in East Roanoke Cemetery.
Serving as Pall Bearers and Flower Attendants will be friends of the family.
In Loving Memory Of Earl Eugene Pogue
Mr. Earl Eugene Pogue was born in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama on January 20, 1964 to the parentage of the late James Marable and Cora Jean (Pogue) Carter, both Randolph County natives.
He attended Randolph County High School in Wedowee, Alabama, where he distinguished himself as a gifted athlete, on the football team. Earl’s talent as a football player was undeniable.
He served in the National Guard for several years. Throughout life, Earl would occasionally attend East Roanoke Pure Holiness Church Of God, where his mother and aunt were faithful members.
Earl was previously married to Ms. Priscilla Appleby of Chambers County, Alabama, and their union gave rise to three sons.
Earl was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hop and Lillian Pogue; his father, James R. Marable; step-father, John Henry Carter; one brother, James H. Bailey; and beloved mother, Cora Jean Carter. He transitioned from this life on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Roanoke, Alabama.
He leaves to cherish many loving memories: three (3) sons: Kelvin Marquis Appleby and Marcus Terrell Pogue both of Welch, Alabama, and Kerry Martinez Pogue of Roanoke, Alabama; a very beloved Aunt, whom he lived with and regarded as a mother, Mrs. Mary Rowland of Roanoke, Alabama; seven (7) sisters: Ruby Traylor, Marylin Marable Parker, and Faye Parker all of Wedowee, Alabama; Linda Chambers of Atlanta, Georgia; Veronica Marable of Opelika, Alabama, Kim Knight of Dayton, Ohio and Lisa McCraleth of Alexander City, Alabama; six (6) brothers: James G. Marable of Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy Marable of LaGrange, Georgia; Demetrius Marable, Tyson Marable and Tyler R. Marable all of Wedowee, Alabama and Junior Carter of Talladega, Alabama; a special friend, Brother Stanford Joiner; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen (14) nieces, ten (10) nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends..
