Obituary

It is from the depths of their sadness that the Nunn families of Woodland, AL,  Kentucky, Georgia, and other nearby communities, announce the passing from this life of their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Charlie Mae Nunn, 78, formerly of Woodland, Alabama.  Mrs. Nunn transitioned from this life on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Twin Fountains Nursing Home, in LaGrange, Troup County, GA.

THE OBITUARY

Charlie Mae Nunn, age 78, a lifelong resident of Woodland, AL, faded away as a beautiful flower on October 28, 2022, in LaGrange, GA. Charlie bloomed into life on January 18, 1944, to the late Lorenza Charlie Patillo and Gertrude Miller in Randolph County, AL.

Charlie's life was like the sweet aroma of a rose. She was a loving person with a smile that would light up a room and warm the hearts of her friends and family. She loved watching western movies in her leisure time. She was known for her green thumb; when she planted her eye-catching roses, they would grow up with radiance. Charlie's spirit was as magical as her roses; she had a way of reliving the hurt and fears of others with sweet words of faith and encouragement to aid them in dark seasons. Charlie was a Christian woman with love for all she met. She served others through her domestic duties, farm work tending to chickens and livestock

Charlie's elegant and poised character caught the eyes of William W. Nunn. Charlie and William expressed their love in holy matrimony on March 15, 1961, in Wedowee, AL. The value of their love was seen in the forty-three years of wedding bliss they shared until William's passing.

Charlie Mae was preceded in death by the love of her life, William W. Nunn; her father and mother, Lorenza Charlie Patillo and Gertrude Miller; and two sisters: Shirley Talbot and Helen Nunn.

Remembering the fragrance of her kindness are the six children she leaves behind: three sons: Calvin Nunn of Louisville, KY, Carlton Lee Nunn of Bowdon, GA, and Willie John Nunn of Woodland, AL; three daughters: Shirley Mae Nunn of Bowdon, GA., Barbara (Curtis) Goode and Patricia Ann Nunn both of Franklin, GA;  three devoted sisters: Nancy Green, Inell Roundtree, and Barbara Houston, all of Randolph County, AL; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also share delightful memories; lastly but certainly not least, Christine Baggin, a devoted niece and finally, a host of friends and other relatives.

Our sincere prayers for comfort and peace are sent forth during her sudden absence from us; and as always, we express deepest gratitude to our communities for sharing with the Nunn families during their time of bereavement.
