Chanda Carlisle Obituary

It is with deepest regret, that the Carlisle and Hambrick families of Roanoke and Opelika, AL, announce the passing from this life, of their mother, daughter, grandmother, and beloved sister, Ms. Chanda M. Carlisle 42.

A native of Roanoke, Alabama, and a long-time resident of Opelika, Ms. Carlisle unexpectedly transitioned from this life on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Lee County, AL.

Chanda was born in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama, on September 8, 1980, to the parentage of the late Sylvester Carlisle and Mrs. Vanessa Allen Carlisle.

She received her early spiritual guidance at Rock Mills Baptist Church, Roanoke. Chanda also attended Handley High School in Roanoke, where she met the love of her life, Travis Hambrick and within that union of marriage, they had two wonderful sons, Travis Hambrick, Jr., and Talik Hambrick.  She was a former employee of Roanoke Health Care Center.  Ms. Carlisle later became a long-time resident of Opelika, AL, where she resided until her transition from this life.  Ms. Carlisle loved to cook and listen to blues. Chanda was also a huge Auburn University football fan, and she loved mostly being around her family and friends. She was known to all the neighborhood children as "Momma Rose."
