With heavy hearts, we announce the passing from this life of our beloved childhood friend and classmate, Mrs. Bathsheba Ann Foster Cook, a resident of Roanoke, Alabama. Mrs. Cook transitioned from this life on Monday, October 29, 2018 at her residence at 20 County Road 3102, Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama.

Public viewing and visiting hours will be observed on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

The Homegoing Service for Mrs. Cook will be observed on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 1:00 o'clock pm at the Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church, 1216 County Road 310, Roanoke, Alabama. The Reverend Elijah Jackson, Jr., Pastor will serve as Eulogist. Sharing the roster along with the pastor, will be The Reverend Gilbert E. Staples, Reverend William H. Trammell, and the Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church Choir.

Serving as Pall Bearers and Flower Attendants will be: Nephews, Nieces, and Cousins of the late Mrs. Cook.

Burial will follow in the adjoinng cemetery at Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1216 County Road 310, Roanoke.

 

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Bathsheba Ann Foster Cook

 

Bathsheba Ann Cook (Foster), 65, was born to the parentage of the late Mr.& Mrs. Amos Lee and Julia Ann (Bell) Foster, Sr. in Roanoke (Randolph County), Alabama on March 23, 1953.

 

She was educated in the Randolph County School System attending elementary, middle and high school at the Historically Black Randolph County Training School, and later became the first of her class to desegregate Randolph County High School graduating with the class of 1971.

Bathsheba relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1972 and married Roy Cook, Sr. on May 6, 1973 and was united in Holy Matrimony for 26 years.

She lived her life in service to the Lord. As a child, Bathsheba grew up serving the Lord at Wehadkee Baptist Church. When she became an adult and moved to St. Petersburg, she became an active member of Greater Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

After retirement, she moved back to her home town of Roanoke, AL she reactivated her membership back at Wehadkee Baptist Church. She was always ready to serve wherever she was needed. As a giver and lover of people… she was quick to respond to anyone in need. She loved reading God's word, going to church, her family.

Bathsheba was a trendsetter with and infectious laugh and personality that touched all whom she came in contact with whether it was family, friends, co-workers or someone in her community.

On Monday in the morning of October 29th, 2018, Bathsheba (Sheba) passed away and went home to be with the Lord.

Bathsheba was preceded in death by Two sisters: Laura Jean Foster & Jacqueline Foster Williams; Two brothers: Sam Foster, Sr. & William Edward Taylor; Three brother-in-laws: Ronald Ware, Sr., Tyrone Williams, Sr., and Jesse Houston, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories:
