It is with our deepest and heartfelt sympathy that we inform you of the passing from this life of Mrs. Angel Marie "Buffy" Treadwell, 49, a resident of 1233 Recreation Drive, Roanoke, Alabama. Mrs. Treadwell transitioned from this life on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center, Lagrange, Troup County, Georgia.
Angel Marie Treadwell was born and raised in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama on December 1, 1970 to the parentage of the late Mr. Lorenzo Linson and the late Mrs. Bernice (McPherson) Linson Cofield. Also, growing up with Angel was her brother, Lorenzo Jermaine Linson of Roanoke. In later years, her mother remarried, and Angel gained a wonderful step-father, Howard Cofield, Sr., and a step-brother, Howard Cofield, Jr. (Shaye) both of Roanoke. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Early and Minnie Lee McPherson who were also natives of Roanoke by way of Troup County, GA.
Born into a family of gifted singers, "Buffy" as she was called by everyone who knew and loved her, was a gifted vocalist too. Growing up around gospel music all her life, she was drawn into the family of faith, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and joined Peace and Goodwill Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her homegoing. She truly enjoyed singing in the Choir at Peace and Goodwill.
She graduated from Handley High School in Roanoke, Class of 1989 and later attended Southern Union State Community College. Buffy was a young lady who enjoyed the simple things in life: she loved shopping, travel, singing in her church and being around her family. She was always fun to be around and adventurous.
Buffy united in marriage to her husband, Mr. Chris Treadwell, also a native of Roanoke, with whom she remained faithfully wed until her passing. Blessed with four children -- one son and three daughters -- their fruitful union blossomed into a loving family including the original four (4) children: Jasmine Marquetta Linson, Jamonica Treadwell, and twins: William Christopher Treadwell and Wantika Charmaine Rowland (Kentovian) all of Roanoke; and eight (8) grandchildren: Tamarious Treadwell, Damarious Treadwell, Kamarious Treadwell, A'Zyan Hughley, Jordyn Treadwell, Sariah Treadwell, Tristan Thompson, Kylan Treadwell.
Through her marriage to Chris, Angel also gained a beloved father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William and Ethel Treadwell of Roanoke.
"Buffy" was a dedicated mother -- first and foremost. She devoted over sixteen years, working locally in the textile industry. Her last employment was Mohawk Industries here in Roanoke.
"Angel" -- a very fitting name for a heavenly wife, mother and grandmother -- peacefully transitioned from this life on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in Lagrange. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo Linson and Mrs. Bernice McPherson Linson Cofield.
Among others who are left to cherish many special memories are: three (3) aunts: Linda Jackson, Charlotte Parker, Minnie Bell; and one (1) uncle, Joe McPherson; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Sonya Nolan (Robert), Tammi Holley and Jeffery Treadwell (Shenelle), all of Roanoke; her special friends: Sonia Jones, Michelle Haynes, Cindy Dennis, Beverly Holliday, Renae Gates; and finally but not least, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
