In Loving Memory Of Lucille Hall Clark "Big Mama"
Mrs. Lucille Hall Clark was born February 3, 1920 to the parentage of the late Mr. Jay and Georgia Taylor Hall in Randolph County, Alabama. She departed this life on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019 in Roanoke, Alabama at the Roanoke Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
On June 19, 1944 she united in marriage with Mr. John Will Clark who preceded her in death (February 23, 1997). Their union was fruitful, giving rise to three children; one (1) son, John Will Clark, Jr., preceded her in death.
At an early age, she united with the Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in the Peace and Goodwill Community. She was very active in her church until failing health limited her participation. But, just by virtue of longevity, she earned the distinction of being the oldest member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church.
Throughout life, Lucille busied herself by perfecting her culinary skills while working in the cafeteria at Handley High School. She also worked in the health care field as a CNA at Traylor's Nursing Home. She concluded her working years with her retirement from Traylor's Nursing Home; but, continued to enjoy cooking, especially making preserves.
Lucille was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, the late John Will Clark; a sister, Geneva Staples; and two (2) grandchildren Donald Watkins and Stephanie Dancy. But upon summoning her to her eternal home, God in his wise providence saw fit to reunite her with her predeceased loved ones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Jeanette Watkins (Henry); one (1) son, William Clark (Peggy); six (6) grandchildren: Patrick Lamar Watkins, Ronald Watkins, Crystal Clark, William Devon Clark, Brad Staples, and Lucretia Hughley; a goddaughter, Daisie Lee Hall, that she was very fond of; a special nephew, Lucious Clark; several great-grandchildren whom she adored greatly; and finally but not least of all, a very dear friend, Mrs. Willie Mae Bradshaw; and many other relatives and friends.
