James was born June 5, 1947 in Roanoke, Randolph County, Alabama to the parentage of Jim Tom Lee and Catherine Burrough Lee. He grew up in Roanoke, Alabama. He attended the Randolph County Training School. At an early age, he joined Peace and Goodwill Baptist Churchwhere he remained throughout his life.
At various times in his life, James worked and Pulpwooded for many years. He was also a school bus driver for Randolph County Schools, and a Police Officer for Wadley Police Department. For several years, he also worked as a jailor for Randolph County Jail and Sheriff Deputy for Wedowee Alabama Sheriff's Department. he retired from Franklin Aluminum in Franklin, Georgia.
James leaves to hold fast to many fond and loving memories: his beloved wife, Audrey Henderson Lee of Roanoke; two (2) children -- a daughter Rashanda Golden of Carrollton, GA; and a son, Kevin Allen of Roanoke; one (1) sister, Ruby Ford of Farrockaway, NY; four (4) grandchildren: Dontavious Holley, Demarcus Blount and Aubrey Almon of Carrollton, GA; Malcolm Thomas of Roanoke, AL; special cousins, Cleophus Burrough and Willie Phillips of Roanoke; special nieces, Constance Keeler and Tasha Shears; a special nephew, Patrick Nolan (Jasmine); a Godson, Travis Leanard; one (1) brother-in-law, Row Edward Winston of Roanoke, AL; and finally a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
