Agnes Minnefield Obituary

With very heavy hearts, the Minnefield family of Wedowee, regretfully announce the passing from this life of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Agnes Minnefield, 91, a native and long-time resident of Wedowee.  Mrs. Minnefield transitioned from this life on Monday, October 23, 2023 at her residence, Wedowee. We will always remember and cherish her for being a wonderful wife to our father, the late Arthur Minnefield and mother to all of us.   We request your prayers as we anticipate the celebration of her life, legacy and homegoing. We thank all of our friends and loved ones for the love and prayers that have already come our way since her passing...

In Loving Memory Of Agnes L. (Green) Minnefield

Agnes peacefully departed this life on Monday evening, October 23, 2023.  She was a daughter of Randolph County, born in Wedowee, to the late Carl and Annie (Houston) Green on November 9, 1931.  Agnes was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Minnefield; daughter, Susie Patricia (Trish) Turner; grandson, Michael (Beetlebug) Houston; and parents, Carl and Annie (Houston) Green; a sister and  four (4)  brothers.

At an early age, Agnes accepted Christ and married Arthur Minnefield young as well.  Their union gave rise to two (2) children, Susie "Trish" and Warren. In the 1950's Agnes and Arthur moved to Dayton, Ohio, where she was a Member and Board Member of Canaan Baptist Church. Agnes worked at Mendenhall Cleaners for 24 years. Later, in 1974 she accepted employment at Wright State University where she labored for 20 years, as a Supervisor over Housekeeping.  After their retirement, in 1994 Agnes and Arthur moved back to Wedowee where she reunited with Zion Rest Baptist Church and attended faithfully until she fell ill.

Agnes leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her son Warren Minnefield (Julia); sisters, Naconia Robinson of Cincinnati, Ohio and Emma Jean Green of Wedowee, Alabama; grandchildren: Lamont Colquitt of Dayton, Ohio; Darron Houston of Columbus, Ohio; David Minnefield, of Wedowee, AL; Barbette Baguidy (Donnie) of Rex, Georgia; Warren Minnefield, II (Karla) of Wedowee, AL; and Deric "Chad" Minnefield of Stone Mountain, GA; ten (10) great-grandchildren; and seven (7) great great-grandchildren;  a special great-great grandson Jay'Denn E.
